Sentiment is integral in music. Feeling gives listeners something to clutch on and relate to.

“somethingsgonnaworkout” is the first collaborative single from Australian producers 1tbsp & Jai Piccone, and as the title suggests, it’s brimming with positive sentiment. Built around an ecstatic vocal sample, trotting percussive elements and contorted synth keys the track inspires us to remain resolute, to grit our teeth through struggles and to recognise that sooner or later things will get better.

“somethingsgonnaworkout” is a shot of adrenaline. A song that will urge you to burst out the door and go running, irrespective if you’re into pounding the pavement. Sonically, there’s a physicality and sense of movement present, as if the notes are skimming across a body of water or bouncing off walls. You’ll be pleased to know there’s plenty more where this came from with more paired joints en route.

Both artists had stellar years in 2023. 1tbsp released a slew of well-received records, embarked on a nine-date Australian tour, a headline North America tour, played shows in Tokyo and Europe and landed slots at Groovin’ The Moo, Listen Out and the inaugural SXSW Sydney. Whilst Jai Piccone took huge strides in his solo career releasing his 6-track Make Me Understand EP which pricked the ears of streaming platforms and garnered him stacks of new fans both here and abroad.
